600 homes now destroyed by Kilauea!!!

Insert from an article from watchers.news:

The number of homes destroyed by lava has reached 600 since Kilauea started erupting on May 3, 2018, marking its most destructive eruption in modern times and the most destructive in the United States since the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens.

Just two days ago we were talking about 300 homes destroyed, now we are in the 600’s. That over 600 family’s affected and an estimated 2500 people who are now displaced by this eruption proving it to be the most destructive eruption in its history. I remember when this all started, everyone had told us that this was no big deal, that it erupts all the time.

Now it seems the destruction has accelerated and still shows no signs on when this will end. Scientists have said that this could go on for weeks or even months! What I’ve learned, low solar wind is the culprit to this activity. Its all relevant. So what we can expect is for more eruptions in more parts of the world as we descend into the Grand Solar Minimum.

Kilauea Update!

Photo: watchers.news

Insert from article:

The intermittent eruption of lava in the Leilani Estates subdivision in the lower East Rift Zone of Kīlauea Volcano accompanied by toxic fumes and fountains up to 100 m (330 feet) high continues. A total of 11 fissures have emerged and 30 homes have been destroyed by 04:00 UTC today. The flow of lava has intensified on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

So far, we now have 11 fissures.(confirmed) Maybe the worst is over? We had a 6.9 magnitude earthquake and after that was when these fissures opened up. The worst are in the Leilani Estates subdivision. The video footage is amazing and horrifying at the same time. Of course this is not the eruption that leads to a year without summer or is it?

It’s been said that these lava flows and fissures opening up could last for several weeks. The question is now, will there be more lava flow and will more fissures open up? I watched an update last night and the gentleman that was holding a press conference was visibly tired and shocked. He hesitated a few times about the amount of fissures confirmed at the time. Leading me to believe that there could be several more  fissures, but just not yet confirmed.

One thing remains certain, the landscape will be forever changed in the east riff zone of the Kilauea volcano.I’ve said it before, we are alive in some incredible times, but the reality is also a little scary when you see the power of mother nature.

I recommend everyone who follows the Grand Solar Minimum channel to get a copy of “Upheaval” by John L Casey. The more we educate now, the more prepared we will be when the next big earthquake or volcano eruption happens.

Surprise Fly By!!

phot o by astronomer Michael Jäger of Weißenkirchen Austria

Article by spaceweather.com

SURPRISE ASTEROID FLYBY: With little warning, a relatively large asteroid flew through the Earth-Moon system on April 15th only 192,200 km (0.5 LD) from our planet. 2018 GE3 was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey approaching Earth on April 14th. Hours later, amateur astronomer Michael Jäger of Weißenkirchen Austria video-recorded the space rock rushing through the southern constellation Serpens:

According to wikipedia, 2018 GE3 is the largest known asteroid to pass that close to Earth in observational history,” says Jäger. “It was shining like a 13th magnitude star at the time of my observations.”

Based on the intensity of its reflected sunlight, 2018 GE3 must be 48 to 110 meters wide, according to NASA-JPL. This puts it into the same class as the 60-meter Tunguska impactor that leveled a forest in Siberia in 1908. A more recent point of comparison is the Chelyabinsk meteor–a ~20-meter asteroid that exploded in the atmosphere over Russia on Feb. 15, 2013, shattering windows and toppling onlookers as a fireball brighter than the sun blossomed in the blue morning Ural sky. 2018 GE3 could be 5 to 6 times wider than that object.

If 2018 GE3 had hit Earth, it would have caused regional, not global, damage, and might have disintegrated in the atmosphere before reaching the ground. Nevertheless, it is a significant asteroid, illustrating how even large space rocks can still take us by surprise. 2018 GE3 was found less than a day before before its closest approach.

Based on an observational arc of only 1 day, 2018 GE3 appears to follow an elliptical orbit which stretches from the asteroid belt to deep inside the inner solar system. Every ~2.5 years the space rock crosses the orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars–although not necessarily making close approaches to the planets themselves.

Mega Rain In Hawaii !!

Photo from watchers.news

Insert from watchers.news: An upper level low west of Kauai and ample deep moisture have worked together to produce record-shattering rains in parts of Hawaii over the weekend. At least two homes were swept away by raging floodwaters and dozens more damaged. The hardest-hit area is between Hanalei and Haena. There are no reports of deaths or injuries at this time.

This is a very impressive record that was broken over the weekend in Hanalei and Haena, Hawaii. Over 27 inches of rain fell in a 24 hour period ,shattering a previous record set of 12.52 inches in March of 2012 ,also broke a two day record as well of 24 inches from the same weather event. It has been reported that two homes were completely wiped off of its foundation as dozens of homes have been damaged or flooded. Governor David Ige has declared a state of emergency.

Mudslides have blocked many roads and highways as rods remain close in areas. The island is also dealing with Major flooding plus power and water outages. At least 40 people re staying in shelters at this point in time. Also,The Hanalei River was at 4.49 m (14.76 feet) early Sunday morning, well above the 2.3 m (7.7 foot) flood stage.

Ice Ice April?

Insert from watchers.news :A powerful ice storm brought freezing rain and ice pellets to much of southern Ontario on April 14 – 15, causing power outages, fallen trees, flooding and an ‘almost unprecedented’ over 1600 collisions on slippery Toronto-area roads.

We had one hell of a weekend here in the northeast! First we started Friday with moderate rain, gears then quickly shifted on Saturday changing from rain to freezing rain. The ice accumulated through the evening here in Buffalo and overnight as well. It looks like our neighbors up north got the worst of this. Even though we were supposed to get a half inch of ice ourselves here in b=Buffalo, There  were over 100k people without power and over 1600 vehicle crashes also reported in the Ontario area.  No power outages to report here in Buffalo as city officials worked feverishly to get tree limbs trimmed back from power lines to help minimize power outages.

Rain has been the story here in western new York and Ontario. Over 2.50 inches fell in Ontario leading to floods and uprooted trees. Also high winds snapped power lines and trees as well. As this system wraps up (Xanto), western New York and company are now dealing with snow . The snow won’t stick around as temps have only hit the freezing mark for only a few hours. Side note: once again, The Royals baseball team has been affected once again as their game against the Toronto Blue Jays has been cancelled due to falling ice around the stadium.

Thankfully. we have limited precip to deal with here in the north eastern U.S for the rest of his week, but it is April and rain and thunderstorms are inevitable ..

Time will tell

.I just finished read an article called “put up or shut up“. The author is a skeptic of global warming ( thank god) and brings up several points that time will tell. It also seems that some people are misunderstanding what a weak cycle is.

Robert Zimmerman of the GWPF writes “If the solar minimum has actually arrived now, this would make this cycle only ten years long, one of the shortest solar cycles on record. More important, it is a weak cycle. In the past, all short cycles were active cycles. This is the first time we have seen a short and weak cycle since scientists began tracking the solar cycle in the 1700’s, following the last grand minimum in the 1600’s when there were almost no sunspots.”

There is some debate that this next cycle (25)m is the precursor to the next grand minimum where some believe it will be here to stay for a very long time once we get to 2031. I think that it is happening now as we see a very sharp decline in sunspots so far in 2018. right now we are at 63 spotless days and its only April.  Compare those numbers to all of 2017 (104 spotless days) and you see why many believe we are in the grand solar minimum now. ( The Eddy Minimum)

What strikes me with Mr Zimmerman’s statement is the part where he says this will be a weak cycle as if that makes this better. What he fails to understands is that weaker normally means fewer than predicted sunspots and more cooling to follow that. Maybe its a lack of education or maybe some of these Global warming guys don’t like to be corrected so they just ignore the important facts. He also mentions that the maunder minimum was the last grand minimum and that there were almost no sunspots during that period, kinda like what we are seeing in the beginning of this minimum. This leads me to believe that we are indeed accelerating into this current minimum and predictions of a long lasting minimum are starting to look like a reality.

Yes, only time will tell. If the low sunspot counts don’t correlate with low temps, the global warmist shall be vindicated. As of right now, the correlation is already here. Over 1800 cold record broke in the last 30 days with only two sunspots to speak of in that time frame and very little and weak sunspots I might add.

3 Holes Just Opened on The Sun, And Earth Is Being Slammed With Geomagnetic Storms

Here’s what you need to know.

So much fake news on the internet and there is no end in sight. Its bad enough that we see so many people lying to the public about man made global warming, Now we see articles like this. Click bait or lack of understanding? I hope its a lack of under standing. In this article here, which I will leave the link below, this writer claims that the sun had 3 coronal holes that had just opened up and will smash the earth with Geomagnetic storms.

First I’ll address the 3 coronal holes. In the sdo photo they use dated the 4th of April 2018, they point to the coronal hole that’s affecting earth now and the other two holes were at the north and south poles of the sun, so to speak. The coronal holes at the top and bottom of the sun did not just open up. I don’t think ive seen them ever close up in my time of researching this topic, plus, those two coronal holes do not affect the earth like the earth facing (equatorial region) coronal hole. Only coronal holes in the equatorial region affect earths magnetic field. The severity of the geomagnetic storm matters the most when it comes to what kind of damage a G1 through  G5 can do. (please see video on ranking geomagnetic storms https://youtu.be/ASf1nEXOVNM) .

As for the earth getting slammed by these storms? The G1 came and went the day before that this article was wrote. There is a 50% chance today for a G1 type storm but as of right now(4/12/18 11:30am), our KP is at a 2 and we need to be at a KP of 5 to see a minor G1 storm as also discussed in Mari’s video that i left the link for. Its a shame that this author doesn’t understand space weather because others like her will probably be concerned when reading this headline. But fear not. if ever in doubt of what class storm we are in, just go to spaceweather.com. there you will see what the KP is sitting at real time. Websites like thegrandsolarminimum.com are here to educate and understand the changes that are coming. Please review our resources on our links and there you will find the data that we report.

Extreme weather to blame for lost profit..

This winter was a harsh one when it came to the cost of heating. In late December and early January, National Grid issued a supply issue alert and urging customers to use less natural gas, turn your heat down five degrees etc… The alert was over within 16 hours but since then we have seen this alert again.

Here in the Buffalo area, winter is still here at night and through the day as of April 12th 2018. That only means that the furnace stays on longer than usual and that alone raises millions of homes budget’s when it comes to energy to keep you and your family warm. National Grid is warning investors of a possible slimmer bottom line than normal because of the long lasting winter, not only here but our friends across the pond as well felt a harsh winter.

This raises a serious concern because the answer that National Grid has for its customers is “we need to use less in the near future and beyond”.

This tells me as these winters continue to get worse each year, we will also continue to see these supply shortage alerts and rising cost to heat your home. Now is the time to start thinking about next winter and we how  can heat our homes more efficiently and effectively .
